"Since I was diagnosed with Sjögren's, I have learned..."

Since I was diagnosed with Sjögren’s, I have learned that I can deal with my Sjogren’s.  I can still be me, and enjoy my life!

My most difficult symptoms are Peripheral Neuropathy, tiredness, dry mouth, and dry eye.

I have learned to get my rest, and take some “me” time for myself, and yet leave enough to do what I need to do as I work full time and have other responsibilities too.  I take my medication as directed, and keep my doctor’s appointments.  Set personal goals, and keep them.  Don’t over do it!

One thing I wish people knew about Sjögren’s is that men have Sjogren’s too! I believe more men have it than are diagnosed.

Even though I am no more susceptible to get COVID-19 than another male my age, it bothers me to think of coping with the disease knowing that it might be more difficult to overcome because of my Sjogren’s.  It may be difficult to get my prescription of Plaquenil refilled.  Stay on top of your pharmacist to see if I am qualified for a 90 day supply at a time!

My best Sjögren’s tip is to get your rest, yet stay active!
