
How has Sjögren's affected your life (either physically, emotionally, financially)?:
Sjögren’s has affected my life in many different ways and many different times. When I was pregnant I had complications linked to Sjögren’s. As a parent of a youth hockey player the secondary Raynaud's have made the cold ice rinks even more difficult to bear. The joint pain and stiffness can effect my energy levels and my mood.
How has connecting with the Sjögren's community or others living with Sjögren's Disease affected your journey with SjD?:
It has helped me to see that I am not alone, my symptoms are real, my struggles are valid and I have support from others going through exactly what I am going through

Taking care of my mind and my body are the most inportant things I can do for myself and my family. Eating right, exercising, my mental health are all important in managing my disease.
What do you wish people knew about your Sjögren’s?:
It’s a real disease with real complications and challenges.
What does it mean to "thrive" while living with Sjögren's?:
Thriving with Sjögren’s is managing symptoms, knowing your body and your triggers and managing your stress.
How do you incorporate self-care with managing Sjögren's?:
Self care is the best way to manage Sjögren’s. What you eat and how active you are play a significant role in managing symptoms associated with Sjögren’s.
What inspires you to keep going on hard days?:
My son and being here for him in the long run. The quality of my life when I get older will play a role in his life and I want to be in the best shape possible.
What’s your best Sjögren’s tip?:
Hydrate, exercise, anti inflammatory diet, manage stress.
