Please finish the following sentence: "Sjögren's has taught me...":
That I need to give myself grace and allow for those good as well as the bad days and to preserve through all my days.
What are your most difficult symptoms?:
The most difficult symptoms I have are fatigue, trouble sleeping and brain fog.
How has Sjögren's impacted your life (either physically, emotionally, financially)?:
It was taken a toll on my emotional state. I am a substitute teacher and some days I feel like a failure due to the brain fog. That creates insecurities.
How do you effectively cope with the complexity of symptoms?:
I rely on my wonderful doctors as well as reading and keeping up with the latest information about Sjögren’s.
What do you wish people knew about your Sjögren’s?:
Just because I look good doesn’t mean that I feel good and that brain fog is real and not just a made up symptom.
How do you incorporate self-care with managing Sjögren's?:
I walk daily, eat a healthy diet, try to keep a good bedtime routine as well as keeping all my doctors, dentist and eye appointments. Faith and pray also keep me grounded in my Sjögren’s journey.
What is your go-to Sjögren's product?:
Nivea dry skin lotion! Nothing really helps with the dry skin but it sure works well!
What’s your best Sjögren’s tip?:
Live life to the fullest and don’t be afraid to share about your difficulties.
